Here, we will only speak in the context of <strong>Andalusia, specifically the Costa del Sol<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>IVA<\/strong> for new properties<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>ITP<\/strong> for second-hand properties<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>AJD (Stamp Duty)<\/strong> for new properties<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Capital Gains Tax<\/strong> when selling a property<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Income tax<\/strong> if the property is rented<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In some cases <strong>wealth tax<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>It also depends on whether you are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Spanish tax resident<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>EU resident<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Non-EU resident<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>So instead of complicated explanations, let\u2019s keep it simple. There are <strong>three main scenarios<\/strong> most buyers on the <strong>Costa del Sol<\/strong> should understand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Property Tax in Spain When Buying (Costa del Sol)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The tax depends mainly on <strong>whether the property is new or resale<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Resale property (most common on the Costa del Sol)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Taxes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>ITP (<\/strong>Impuesto sobre Transmisiones Patrimoniales<strong>) \u2013 Transfer Tax:<\/strong> about <strong>7% in Andalusia<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Paid <strong>once when buying<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Example:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>German buyer purchases property for <strong>\u20ac500,000<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>ITP \u2248 <strong>\u20ac35,000<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>New property from a developer<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Taxes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>VAT (<\/strong>IVA &#8211;
