From my experience of working with international buyers on the Costa del Sol over the years, I have noticed that many people initially consider several areas before eventually focusing on one that best aligns with their priorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When we first came to Spain, we <strong>stayed in Valencia<\/strong> for about six months. However, we didn&#8217;t really like the vibe, so we eventually <strong>moved to Torremolinos and later to Benalm\u00e1dena on the Costa del Sol<\/strong>. There are some really <strong>beautiful and charming places<\/strong>, but I can&#8217;t see myself living there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Climate:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Summers here can be <strong>extremely hot, often exceeding 40\u00b0C<\/strong>, while winters can be surprisingly cold. As these areas are far from the sea, temperatures fluctuate much more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Lifestyle and vibe: <\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Life is traditional and slow-paced<\/strong>. Many towns are small and authentic with little international tourism influence. I have always wanted to visit this part of Spain, but it is too far away for us to visit at the moment \u2014 we live exactly 1,000 km (620 miles) away \u2014 and we have never had a specific reason to go there. That&#8217;s why I cannot share information about the local lifestyle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Climate:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>This area has a <strong>much cooler climate than the south<\/strong>. Summers are mild, but <strong>winters can be cold<\/strong>, rainy and windy, especially near the Atlantic coast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The north is incredibly green and beautiful. Many areas resemble northern Europe, with forests, cliffs and dramatic coastlines. I have visited the Alicante area many times, and in<strong> April and October it is pleasant<\/strong> with moderate temperatures and no crowds. But it gets <strong>boiling hot in the summer<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Alicante had a record-breaking year for tourism in 2025. Over <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/alicantetoday.com\/alicante_and_benidorm_celebrate_record_tourism_year_as_costa_blanca_momentum_builds_1000257623-a.html\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/alicantetoday.com\/alicante_and_benidorm_celebrate_record_tourism_year_as_costa_blanca_momentum_builds_1000257623-a.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">1.5 million people visited the city<\/a><\/strong>, and nearly<strong> 20 million passengers<\/strong> passed through Alicante-Elche Airport. This marked an 8.5% increase in air traffic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Climate:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Hot summers and mild winters. However, some inland areas become very <strong>dry and hot during the peak summer months<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Lifestyle and vibe: <\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>This region is home to <strong>large international communities<\/strong>, particularly <strong>British expats<\/strong>, as well as a very strong <strong>Russian-speaking community<\/strong>.
